Process adapts to fit market demand
We produce crumb rubber by shearing chips of scrap tires into progressively smaller pieces. This gives us differing grades and sizes of material. We run the gamut from traditional garden-mulch sized rubber pieces, to sand-like grains of rubber, called "fines." Fines are becoming increasingly important in manufacturing because they serve as an extremely durable filler material.
Experts speculate that a process to devulcanize crumb rubber that is both efficient and cost effective will appear on the market within the next ten years, and once that happens the uses for crumb rubber will become virtually limitless. International Recycled Products plans on being an integral part of that vast supply chain that will necessarily develop around this new technology.
